ALDAcon 2011

What will await you in October as you head to Indianapolis for the 23rd international ALDAcon, sponsored by ALDA, Inc.  and its Northwest Indiana chapter?

"Julius Caesar," a live performance at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, which is right next door to our hotel, will be presented Friday morning during a workshop time slot. The play will be captioned by our well-known supporter Pat Graves and her Caption First staff.

You'll find 17 workshops covering a variety of topics. You'll dine on tasty lunches and feast on an elegant banquet in the beautiful Indiana Rooftop Ballroom. You'll be inspired by luncheon speaker Patti Spitler of WISH-TV in Indianapolis, a former anchorwoman who lost her hearing a few years ago. You can also anticipate the traditional Saturday night Karaoke Party, so bring your dancing shoes. And let's not forget making new friends and reconnecting with long-time ones.

During your free time Thursday and Saturday evenings, you can shop or dine in the Circle Center mall that is attached to the Embassy Suites-downtown. It features more than 100 restaurants and shops and a multiplex theater. If you want to take a stroll, the enchanting White River Park is nearby.

The entire planning committee looks forward to seeing you in Indy!
